Well, it has been nearly two months since my last post (simply to busy getting my book together) and it is also nearly a year since I made this site which is fantastic. I originally created this site for the brilliant Beatnik and his Ukulele music teaching software and with in doing so I took up the Ukulele and began to learn myself (slowly and not to good ha) but I thought I would post again for people looking to learn the Ukulele with Beatnik.

Hollywood Is A Growing Uke Fan!
I came across this video which features the multi talented Kate Micucci and the brilliant actor William H Macy both playing the Ukulele with a very catchy tune with funny lyrics. This was done to plug there 2008 movie “Bart Got A Room” and though we know that Kate is a fantastic Ukulele player, William seems to be a talented player too ( I wonder is he as good as Steve Martin?).

The Jerk-What A Legend
The Jerk was Steve Martins first role in a movie and Navin R. Johnson is one of my favorite characters of all time and this movie is definitely one of the funniest movie ever to be made. In a scene after he meets a woman named Marie (Bernadette Peters) , as they walk along the beach they sing “Tonight You Belong to Me”, a beautiful 1950′s song, with Navin playing a martin ukulele and Marie on the cornet. It’s a great scene and Steve’s Ukulele playing is perfect (Steve is a renowned musician). Check out this legendary scene…..

Just Who Is Beatnik?
Here’s a little about the man and his Ukulele. Nick Night is a well known celebrity entertainer and and has traveled for 20 years entertaining.
He is mostly know as “Beatnik” (cool name) is very creative and artsy type of a guy and also a successful animator and games creator. He is the vice president of a highly respected television studio in Los Angeles and director of an educational media company.
Beatnik is a self-described Ukulele Hedonist who learned how to play the very same way you are right now – by finding some cool, helpful sites online and watching some great tutorial videos.
